AI Glasses Open a New World for Blind Man

Andy Evans, 57, from Larkhall near Bath, lost his job and income after losing his eyesight. For a year he lived without work. But now, smart AI glasses have transformed his life, allowing him to return to work and enjoy independence again.
The glasses, developed by Ray-Ban and Meta, feature a small camera and speakers. They can describe surroundings, read menus, and even warn about obstacles. Evans chose the voice of actress Dame Judi Dench to guide him she affectionately calls him “James Bond.”
Evans now works with Sight Support West of England, helping other blind people adapt to the technology.
Experts believe these AI glasses could change the lives of many people with sight loss. Users report realistic descriptions of places like beaches, rooms, or even zoos, making daily life much easier.
Though still new, AI glasses are offering hope and greater independence for the blind community.
