Remittance peaks $2.0 Billion in August

Remittance of Bangladesh has maintained its strong flow in facial August 2025, enhancing $2.0 billion for the 13th successive month, with a nearly 9% outgrowth of the last year August month.
According to Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arief Hossain Khan posted that Bangladeshi expatriates transmitted $2.42 billion through legal banking channels in August 2025, up from $2.24 billion during the same month last year.
Bangladesh bank published data that during the first two months of the ongoing economic year, total remittances reached $4.90 billion, marking an outstanding 18.4% year-on-year growth compared to $4.13 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The mounting junction shows the consistent seen over the past year, driven by better banking facilities, higher overseas employment, and strongly monitoring of informal channels. In March 2025, remittance inflows set a record high of $3.29 billion, the highest amount ever received through the formal system inin a single month.
Economist reveal that the running growth in remittances will play a significant role in stabilizing the country’s foreign exchange reserves and supporting overall economic resistance .
