$8.6B Arms Deal to Middle East Allies
Ruling administration of US has given permission for emergency arms sales to its partners in the middle East worth is more than $8.6 billion as negotiations to end the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran remained at an impasse.
It is announced by the state Department of US a series of arms sales including Middle Eastern allies. It package entail the transfer of rockets to Israel, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and air-defence equipment to Qatar and Kuwait. These measures come after Persian Gulf nations faced repeat attack of Iranian drones and ballistic missiles during the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.
According to this deal with Qatar, the country would set to pay more than $4 billion on American-made Patriot missile interceptors whose global supply have reduced due to ongoing war.
As a part of this agreement Israel, the UEA and Qatar need to receive the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System, which fires laser-guided rockets. Moreover Kuwait also agreed to buy an advanced aerial defense system for about $2.5 billion.
U.S Secretary of State Marco Rubio approved these under an emergency provision allowing the “immediate sale” of the weapons, the State Department said, bypassing standard congressional review and prompting criticism from Democratic lawmakers.
