Inflation Rate Rises in April Above 9%

The country’s inflation increased again in April, crossing the 9 percent mark. After easing slightly less in March. Economists said that rising fuel costs and increasing import costs were the main reasons behind. Due to increase of inflation has put pressure on consumers.

According to data reported by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), last month inflations rebounded to 9.04 , up from 8.71 percent in March. Al most all the products are at Both food and non-food prices Almost all the products rates increased during the month.

Inflation become sharply high to non-food 9.57 percent from 9.09 percent in March, Food inflation also increased slightly to 8.39percent from 8.24 percent for the present of fuel costs , transport and various services.

In the coming month energy prices could keep inflation high. Experts warned that global tensions rising import costs and pressure on supply chains is also adding to the country’s economic challenges.
